RWB School Dance Ensembles offer students the opportunity to take their training and performance experience further in ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, and musical theatre. Following a successful audition or invitation, students learn new choreography created by RWB School Artistic Faculty, including award-winning choreographers, and develop their skills through dedicated rehearsal and performance.

Throughout the year, Ensemble members have opportunities to perform these works at festivals and competitions, gaining valuable experience on and off the stage. Students may also have exclusive opportunities to perform alongside or with other Winnipeg arts and culture organizations, connecting their training to the wider performing arts community.

Dance Ensemble alumni have gone on to careers on Broadway, at Rainbow Stage, and with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, among others. Many have continued their dance education with organizations including the RWB School Professional Division, Arts Umbrella, Goh Ballet, Alberta Ballet, Boston Conservatory, and the School of Contemporary Dancers.

  • Children Dance Ensembles

    Ages 8-11

    Children’s Dance Ensembles offer students the opportunity to build their confidence, develop their performance skills, and take their training beyond the classroom. Through a variety of disciplines, students explore new choreography, strengthen their technique, and experience the joy of performing as part of an ensemble.

  • Teen Dance Ensembles

    Ages 12-17

    Teen Dance Ensembles offer students the opportunity to further develop their technical abilities, artistic expression, and performance experience. Designed for students ready to take their training to the next level, the program provides opportunities to learn intricate choreography, work collaboratively, and experience the joy of performing as part of an ensemble.

Audition information

Auditions for the 2026-27 Dance Ensembles are now complete. Students interested in our Dance Ensembles are asked to contact the School Office at school@rwb.org to arrange an assessment opportunity.
