Meet Our Teachers
RWB School children’s classes offer dancers ages 6-11 of all levels the opportunity to build technique, confidence, and creativity through a wide range of dance styles and supportive instruction.
Find a Class
RWB School children’s dance classes offer young dancers the opportunity to explore movement, develop new skills, and build confidence in a welcoming and creative environment. Weekly classes are offered at all levels in ballet, jazz, lyrical, tap, musical theatre, acro, and hip hop. Students build coordination, strength, musicality, and flexibility, while developing independence and a lasting love of dance.
Our students can participate in examinations, unique community performance opportunities, and performances alongside RWB Company dancers, including Nutcracker, a special opportunity exclusively available to RWB School students. Families also enjoy added value through discounts on RWB tickets, zero recital costume fees, discounted downtown parking during classes, and GST exemptions.
For children who want to take their training further, the Next Gen Program and Dance Ensembles offer additional opportunities to develop technique and performance skills. Students can prepare for more advanced training while participating in festivals, competitions, and performances.
Ages 6-11
A classical art form that celebrates the strength, beauty, and artistry of movement. Through ballet, students develop balance, flexibility, focus, and confidence while building the precision and agility of classical ballet. The Recreational Division follows the Cecchetti method, with classes from beginner to advanced levels.
Ages 6-11
A dynamic and energetic dance style that builds coordination, flexibility, and confidence. In a fast-paced, challenging, and fun environment, students develop jazz technique while learning engaging combinations set to jazz and current pop music. The Recreational Division follows the ADAPT syllabus.
Ages 9-11
An expressive and dynamic style of dance that emphasizes self-expression while drawing on ballet, jazz, and modern dance techniques. Set to contemporary music, students explore fluid movement, expressive gestures, and choreography that connects closely with the lyrics and emotion of each song. To register for lyrical, students must also take a minimum of one jazz class and one ballet class per week.
Ages 6-11
A high-energy dance class that explores a variety of street dance styles and techniques. Performed to hip hop music, students develop their musicality, coordination, and confidence while exploring the versatility of the discipline through the history and evolution of hip hop culture.
Ages 6-11
A rhythmic and energetic dance style where sounds and rhythms are created using metal taps on the soles of shoes. Students develop tap techniques while learning combinations set to a wide range of musical styles. Tap classes build coordination, rhythm, musicality, and concentration. The Recreational Division follows the ADAPT syllabus.
Ages 6-11
A dynamic class that combines theatre skills, including acting and vocal work, with dance. Students develop confidence, creativity, and performance skills while rehearsing and performing excerpts from popular musicals. It is strongly recommended that musical theatre students also register for a ballet, jazz, and/or tap class.
Ages 6-11
A style that combines classical dance technique with acrobatic elements, incorporating gymnastic-inspired movements into creative choreography. Students develop strength, flexibility, coordination, musicality, and emotional expression while exploring the unique combination of dance and acrobatics.
From the age of five, our two children have been nurtured in an environment that is both challenging and supportive, transforming them into… artists of exceptional caliber.
