Step inside the studio and experience ballet in a whole new way.

The Studio Series invites audiences to gather, connect, and celebrate the art form in an intimate setting unlike any other Royal Winnipeg Ballet performance. Begin the evening with live music, cocktails, and conversation as the lobby transforms into a vibrant social space featuring performances by a jazz trio of University of Manitoba students and a cash bar.

Hosted by Artistic Director Christopher Stowell, the evening continues with a special introduction to the legacy of both George Gershwin and George Balanchine, featuring live performances by University of Manitoba musicians. The centrepiece of the evening is Who Cares?, Balanchine’s joyful and energetic ballet set to some of Gershwin’s most beloved songs.

Following the performance, stay for a candid talkback with the artists and creative team. Grab another drink, ask questions, and gain insight into the stories behind the work.

More than a performance, the Studio Series is an opportunity to come together around dance, music, and the artists that brings them to life.
