Concert Hour Ballet

Each year, senior students from the RWB School Professional Division take performances into schools and community spaces across Winnipeg, introducing young audiences to ballet and other forms of dance.

Inspiring the Next Generation

For many young people, Concert Hour Ballet is their first experience seeing live dance. Through performance and conversation, students have the chance to experience dance up close, ask questions and discover what goes into bringing a performance to life. Concert Hour Ballet invites students to experience live performance up close, explore dance as a way of telling stories and expressing ideas, and meet the young artists who bring it to life. Through performance and conversation, students can ask questions, discover the creativity and collaboration behind the work, and imagine new ways to connect with the arts.

For some, it may be the beginning of a lifelong connection to dance.

Learning Beyond the Studio

Concert Hour Ballet is also an important part of the Professional Division experience.

RWB School students take what they’ve learned in the studio on the road, preparing and performing repertoire, adapting to different spaces and audiences, and sharing their work directly with young people.

Along the way, they build performance experience, confidence, independence and a deeper understanding of what it means to be a working artist.
