Bio

Rachel Cooper brings a wealth of experience to her role as an instructor at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School, where she has been teaching since 2012. Her dance journey began at the Shelley Shearer School of Dance, later expanding her training at the School of Contemporary Dancers and the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School. With a background in ballet, jazz, tap, and modern dance, she has developed a deep appreciation for both the technical and expressive aspects of movement.

A dedicated educator and leader in the dance community, Rachel currently serves as the Dance Program Director at Maples Collegiate, is a faculty member at the Shelley Shearer School of Dance, and previously held the role of Dance Director for the Chai Folk Ensemble. She is also the President of the Manitoba Association of Dance Educators.

Rachel’s commitment to her craft has been recognized with several prestigious honors, including the University of Winnipeg Gold Medal, multiple Manitoba Arts Council Grants, and a scholarship to the Limón Intensive in New York.
