Bio
Born in Washington, DC, and raised in Massachusetts, Liam Saito discovered his love for ballet at six years old, beginning his training at East Street Ballet and later at the Massachusetts Academy of Ballet. His dedication brought him to the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School Professional Division, where he completed the Ballet Academic Program in 2015 and was honoured with both the Douglas & Elizabeth MacEwan Scholarship and the Endowment Award. Following his progression through the Anna McCowan-Johnson Aspirant Program, Liam joined the RWB as an Apprentice in 2017, was promoted to the Corps de Ballet in 2018, and achieved the role of Second Soloist in 2023.
Among his notable performances are the leading role in Peter Pan, Benvolio in Romeo and Juliet, and the Jester in Swan Lake. Additional roles include the Grand pas Classique pas de deux, Peter Quanz’s In Tandem, a suitor in Pas D’Action, and the Mouse King in Nutcracker.
Outside the studio, Liam enjoys biking and spending time with his dog, Azuki. His favorite comfort food is Japanese cuisine, a beloved part of his upbringing.
