Bio

Kyra Soo joined the Royal Winnipeg Ballet Company as an Apprentice in 2021 after completing her training in the Anna McCowan-Johnson Aspirant Program. She was promoted to the Corps de Ballet in 2022.

Her repertoire highlights include Snow White in Angelin Preljocaj’s Snow White, Sugarplum, Josephine, and Spanish in Nutcracker, as well as roles in Swan Lake, Romeo and Juliet, Carmina Burana, The Handmaid’s Tale: Based on the Novel by Margaret Atwood, and Val Caniparoli’s A Cinderella Story.

Born in Vancouver, Kyra began dancing at the age of three and started her formal training at 13 with the Goh Ballet Academy, studying under Yao Ping Zhu and Chan Hon Goh.

When she is not dancing, Kyra enjoys spending time with friends and family, cooking, baking, and playing video games. Kyra’s dream role is Giselle in Giselle and she enjoys any performances where she can get lost in the character to make the story come to life.In the future, she aspires to perform Seventh Symphony, Wizard of Oz, and Serenade.
