Bio
Emilie Lewis joined the Royal Winnipeg Ballet Company as an Apprentice in 2020 and was promoted to the Corps de Ballet in 2021. She made her on-stage debut with the Company in 2021’s mixed programme, Perpetual Motion.
Emilie has performed Clara in the Nutcracker, Pas De Trois Soloist and Cygnets in Swan Lake, Dot in Val Caniparoli’s A Cinderella Story, Princess Florine in The Sleeping Beauty, Erica in T’əl: The Wild Man of the Woods. One of her favourite ballets to perform so far has been Serenade.
Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, she took her first class with the RWB School faculty member Claire Marshall at the age of two. Emilie trained in the RWB School Professional Division beginning in 2012 and graduating in 2018. She furthered her training in the Anna McCowan-Johnson Aspirant program before joining the RWB Company. While training in the RWB School Professional Division, Emilie was the recipient of the University Women’s Club Performing Arts Bursary. Outside of dance, Emilie loves to read and enjoys the outdoors walking her puppy Blitz.
Emilie’s dream role is to one day perform Juliet in Romeo & Juliet.
