Bio
Brooke Thomas joined the Royal Winnipeg Ballet Company as an Apprentice in 2020 and made her debut with the Corps de Ballet in the 2021 mixed programme, Perpetual Motion.
Brooke’s soloist roles include Cygnets, Tall Swans, and Pas de Trois in Swan Lake, Red Riding Hood Pas de Deux in The Sleeping Beauty, and Lead Arabian Pas de Deux and Spanish Soloist in Nutcracker. As part of the Corps de Ballet, she has performed a wide range of roles, from classics like La Bayadere, Romeo & Juliet, Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, and Seventh Symphony to Val Caniparoli’s A Cinderella Story, as well as contemporary works like Carmina Burana and neoclassical pieces including Phi by Guillaume Cote. One of her most memorable moments was having the opportunity to have a pas de deux choreographed on her and former RWB principal dancer Yue Shi by RWB alumni Zachary Rogers.
Born in Abbotsford, British Columbia, Brooke trained locally and attended the Pacific Northwest Ballet summer programs on scholarship for four years before joining the RWB School Professional Division at 16. She was also awarded several other scholarships, including the BC Arts Council Scholarship and the Dr. MacEwan Scholarship, before completing one year in the Aspirant Program and advancing to Apprentice with the Company.
When she’s not dancing, Brooke loves catching up with her friends and family in BC, cherishing every chance she gets to be with them.
