​John is the President/CEO of InterGroup Consultants in Winnipeg and Chair of the RWB Board. He has been an active board member since 2013 and during this time has been involved with the governance, nominations, audit, finance and risk management committees, as well as long-term development planning for the organization.

For the last 25 years, John has worked as a consultant in the energy and resource development sectors. His experience includes leading multi-disciplinary project teams as well as strategic, economic and financial feasibility and planning for resource projects. This has included designing and implementing socio-economic research and assessment programs with stakeholders, as well as utility economic modelling and analysis. More recently, he has worked closely with Indigenous communities and leadership in the development of renewable energy and resource opportunities.

John has been a member of the Energy Sector Alliance Manitoba (ESAM) since its inception and is currently Vice-President. He is excited about ESAM’s focus on the development and use of sustainable sources of energy around the world and assisting clients in developing solutions to meet their energy needs. He is also a member of the International Association for Impact Assessment as well as the International Association for Public Participation.

John believes very strongly about the positive contribution the arts provide to our community.

He enjoys time with his family and remains an active, albeit recreational, soccer player.

John holds an MBA from the University of Sheffield and a BA(Economics) from the University of Manitoba.
