Hansel & Gretel

This sumptuous retelling of the Brothers Grimm fairytale is a feast for the senses. Choreographer Loughlan Prior—also an established dance filmmaker—has conjured a surreal world inspired by the silent film era and vaudeville music halls. This decidedly brighter interpretation of the original tale pairs perfectly with composer Claire Cowan’s captivating score that recalls the era of Hollywood musicals.
Nutcracker

A single gift from Clara’s godfather kicks off an amazing adventure. When the enchanted nutcracker mysteriously comes to life during the night, the stage is set for a tale filled with charm, nostalgia and magic. From a battle with the fiendish Mouse King to the opulent kingdom of the Sugar Plum Fairy, the costumes, choreography and characters in this production are sure to enchant your eyes and your heart.
T’əl: The Wild Man of the Woods with Carmina Burana

T’əl: The Wild Man of the Woods marks a bold new chapter in the RWB’s repertoire. Choreographed by RWB School alumnus Cameron Fraser-Monroe, this west-coast première unfolds an Indigenous legend through the lens of a fully Indigenous creative team. It is a powerful fusion of movement, music, and storytelling that honours the richness of oral tradition. Carmina Burana is visually stunning, musically absorbing, and emotionally pounding. This electrifying work fuses bold, athletic movement with Carl Orff’s cantata to create a visceral experience that transcends traditional storytelling.

We spend multiple weeks touring each year, showcasing our commitment to delivering world-class ballet – including bold, innovative new works – to diverse audiences worldwide, building a greater awareness and appreciation for Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet.

We are proud to be one of Canada’s leading rental companies for classical and contemporary ballet. Our professional dance studio spaces are available for rent to visiting productions, including dance, film, and the local community. We also offer other companies opportunities to rent our productions, allowing them to bring world-class contemporary and classical ballets to their audiences.
