Bio


Katie Saito  (née Simpson) joined the Royal Winnipeg Ballet as an Apprentice in 2018 after two years in the RWB School’s Anna McCowan-Johnson Aspirant Program. She was promoted to the Corps de Ballet in 2020 and advanced to Second Soloist in 2023.

Her repertoire includes performances as Tall Swans and Pas de Trois in Swan Lake, the Sugar Plum Fairy in Nutcracker, Cour d’Amore in Carmina Burana, and Serena Joy in The Handmaid’s Tale: Based on the Novel by Margaret Atwood.

Born in Cranbrook, British Columbia, Katie began ballet at five and joined the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School Professional Division at 11. While a student, she was awarded the prestigious Prince Edward Award in both 2013-2014 and 2014-2015.

Outside of ballet, she enjoys camping, hiking, and spending time with her chihuahua, Azuki.
