​Originally from Brazil, Luzemberg Santana began studying ballet at the age of 9 at the Brazil Bolshoi Theatre School before joining their post-graduate professional program. He had the opportunity to study under celebrated choreographers Vladimir Vasiliev and Ekatarina Maksimova, as well as coach Cecilia Kerche.

Santana made the move to Winnipeg in 2012 to join Royal Winnipeg Ballet’s Corps de Ballet. Since then, he has performed such leading roles as The Nutcracker Prince in Nutcracker and Prince Siegfried in Swan Lake. His repertoire also includes Giselle, The Sleeping Beauty, The Faerie Queen - A Ballet Based On A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Going Home Star - Truth and Reconciliation, The Handmaid’s Tale, Twyla Tharp’s The Princess & The Goblin, Don Quixote, Le Corsaire, and La Bayadére.

Santana had the opportunity to travel and perform internationally for the Company’s 2015 tour of Europe and 2014 tour of China.
