An adventure into the unknown, Q DANCE is an exploration that offers diversity in repertoire and an accessible view into the state of the art.

Q DANCE is an exciting laboratory of dance creation where works in process are shown alongside polished, award-winning ballets. Founded by choreographer Peter Quanz and featuring dancers from Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet and Winnipeg Contemporary Dancers, Q DANCE offers an  exploration into the creative process where the audience can get closer to dance.

For its fourth Winnipeg season, Q DANCE will feature three World Premieres, including Quanz's new duet for WDC’s Johanna Riley and RWB dancer Sophia Lee, the completion of a work Quanz first workshopped in June 2012, and a new work by RWB dancer Yosuke Mino. Quanz’s celebrated ballet Luminous will also be performed in addition to these new works.

TOWARD LIGHT - A Tribute to Rachel Browne is a loving homage to Winnipeg’s Contemporary Dancers' founder and this icon of Canadian modern dance. This show is also the launching platform for the Trust that will preserve and disseminate her legacy.

The RWB School has wrapped up the Western and Eastern legs of the International Audition Tour! We hit the road again in January of 2013 in Minneapolis and Winnipeg! The tour was quite successful, with lots of wonderful talent, familiar faces, and most importantly, lots of love for the RWB School and Dance.

While having dinner in Charlottetown last night, we met up with Platon Choptiany, a former student of the RWB School Recreational Division. When he was six years old, Platon took ballet and creative movement classes with artistic faculty member Johanne Gingras at the old RWB studios on Portage Ave. He now lives in Australia but happened to visiting PEI - what a lovely surprise!

We were thrilled to be back in St. John's, NL at the Connie Parsons School of Dance! Connie is pictured here (centre) with the RWB School Teacher Training Program Director, Johanne Gingras and RWB School Director, Arlene Minkhorst. It was a great turnout and we hope you all enjoyed the day as much as we did.
