On RWB's second day in Israel, Company dancers and staff had an opportunity to visit some of the historic sights of Tel Aviv. This included a stop at Independance Hall where the independence of the State of Israel was first declared. Following lunch, the group traveled just north of Tel Aviv to Caesarea.

On their first day in Israel, RWB dancers and staff participated a ribbon-cutting event for Tel Aviv's new Playground for Peace. Premier Greg Selinger and the Mayor of Tel Aviv, Mr. Huldai, were present at the event. Following the dedication ceremony, RWB dancers taught a class for local youth.

Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet departed from the Winnipeg International Airport on a flight bound for Israel early yesterday, Saturday, October 9, 2010. In celebration of the RWB’s 70th Anniversary, the Company is bringing ballet to the Middle East with a two-week tour to Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and Haifa, Israel. The RWB’s 70th Anniversary Tour will mark the first time in seven years that the RWB has performed overseas. Check back often for up-to-the-minute video updates from the Tour!
