ABOUT BALLET IN THE PARK
Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet launches its 76th season with the summer favourite Ballet In The Park from July 29 – 31. This free family-friendly event returns to Assiniboine Park for three outdoor performances on the Lyric Theatre stage at 7:30 pm nightly. Presented by Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries, Ballet In The Park has been an annual Winnipeg tradition since the early 1970’s, attracting more than 20,000 people annually from Winnipeg and beyond.

Ballet In The Park will also include a performance by the RWB Company Dancers of Going Home Star – Truth and Reconciliation, inspired by the stories and experiences of many survivors and their families from the Indian Residential School System. Waltz of the Hours will also be performed by RWB School Recreational Division students, featuring choreography by Kelly Bale and music by Leo Delibes.

Audience members who want to learn a little more about ballet can look forward to a lecture demonstration featuring a lucky audience member.
