Festival Preview Performances

Reminder to all students participating in the Manitoba Provincial Dance Festival that Festival Preview Performances will be held on April 23-25, 2015 at the RWB. These performances are a great chance for parents to see all the pieces which the RWB School enters into the Festival, and gives students an opportunity to perform their work in front of a supportive and familiar audience. Each piece is performed once over the course of the three days in Studio 116. Due to restricted space in Studio 116, all students will be allocated two tickets for each show they are performing in. More information regarding ticket allocation and performances will be available shortly.

Cecchetti Exam Rehearsals

Cecchetti ballet exam rehearsals have been scheduled during the month of March and April. Please consult your child’s specific exam rehearsal schedule. All rehearsals must be attended to ensure the best possible preparation for your child.

Reminder!

We ask that students who are sick stay home to rest. This will provide their bodies the opportunity to heal and will eliminate the spread of illness to their classmates. Students recovering from injury are encouraged to observe their classes.

All belongings should be locked in lockers to avoid theft. The RWB School cannot be responsible for lost or stolen articles. We ask that any incidences of vandalism or theft be reported to the RWB School Office so we can work to ensure a safe and positive environment for all.

See Principal Bale in Swan Lake!

Faculty Achievements

Congratulations to Alie Wagar on her First Steps achievements. Her original choreography Sail won second place in the First Steps Choreographic Competition.

Jacqui Ladwig attended the Dance for PD (Parkinson’s disease) workshop hosted by Canada’s National Ballet School from January 18-20. Dance for PD is an ongoing initiative of the Mark Morris Dance Group which has successfully connected to the Parkinson’s community in New York, Toronto and around the world. Constructed similarly to the ExplorAbility program currently offered by the RWB School, her attendance to this workshop affirmed the work Ms Ladwig has put into the ExplorAbility program and has already informed her teaching throughout all aspects of her work at RWB.
