LONG TIME RWB STUDENT HOPES TO RAISE FUNDS FOR CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL
Long time Royal Winnipeg Ballet School student Anthony Ferens is taking his love of music and dance and using it to help support the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba.
Anthony, a first-year university student who has been a student in the RWB School Recreational Division for 15 years, is currently organizing the “Creating Heroes & Magic for Sick Kids” benefit concert. Proceeds from the event will be donated to the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba.
The family-friendly performance will feature entertainment and musical numbers from Disney characters, superheroes and pirates performed by a live-band and singers.
Anthony says his inspiration for the event came after riding the bus and talking to a little boy whose sister was in the hospital.
“I don’t even know his name, but we talked about his sister and how he hoped she would come home one day. It planted the seed in me that I wanted to do something to help kids who are in the hospital,” said Anthony.
As an aspiring actor and dancer, Anthony says he knew he could use his connections and talents to put together a benefit show.
“I’ve helped to organize events in the past, and I just think this is such a great cause and a worthwhile challenge,” said Anthony.
Anthony is planning to hold the event this coming October at a yet-to-be-determined location. At this time, he is looking for performers and volunteers.
Those interested in getting involved with the event can contact Anthony at firstname.lastname@example.org.
