Bio
Aidan Vaudreuil joined Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet as an Apprentice in July 2024, marking the next chapter in his artistic journey. Originally from Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia, he began his training at Maritime Dance Academy at the age of ten before pursuing professional studies at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School’s Professional Division, where he trained for five years, followed by an additional year in the Anna McCowan-Johnson Aspirant Program.
Aidan made his professional debut in RWB’s Nutcracker in 2023 and has since performed notable roles such as Fairy Doll pas de trois, Espada in Don Quixote, Phoebus and Pierre in La Esmeralda, and Prince Siegfried in Swan Lake. His favorite ballet is The Winter’s Tale by Christopher Wheeldon, and he aspires to perform in productions such as Alice in Wonderland, Onegin, Jewels, and Giselle, with his dream role being Albrecht in Giselle.
Aidan’s dedication and talent have been recognized with numerous accolades, including the Arnold Spohr Scholarship (2022, 2023), Esso Award of Excellence (2021), Janice Merritt Fleming Award (2021), Dr. Alice Cheatley Scholarship (2020), Robert George Jackson Award (2020), and the Rene Highway Scholarship (2019). He credits the esteemed artistic staff of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School for shaping his training and career.
Beyond the studio, Aidan has a deep curiosity for the world. He loves traveling to new places, immersing himself in different cultures, and expanding his understanding of global traditions. He also enjoys reading tarot cards, making candles, and knitting, finding inspiration in these pursuits.
