Former RWB Second Soloist Chelsey Lindsay married her long
time companion Ryan this summer in a sweet ceremony held in studio 204 at the
RWB building. What a beautiful bride! Congratulations you two! Here's what Chelsey had to say about the big day.
Having dated Ryan for eight years now I
can safely say that the "Big Day" was anticipated by almost
everyone we knew! I can't tell you how many times we have been
asked "when are you getting married?" Fortunately, we
won't be hearing that question any longer!
But in all seriousness, our wedding day was everything I could have dreamed it
to be! Planning a wedding, you quickly realize that it’s not
just about you and your fiance but really about the two sets of families and
friends coming together to celebrate with you. Having most of my family
and close friends from Alberta make the trip out to Winnipeg for our wedding meant so much to us, we truly felt very loved! Lucky
for all the out of towners, the weather was absolutely perfect for the entire
week of festivities!
The ceremony was held in Studio 204 of the ballet building! I know, a
peculiar place to hold a wedding in but it is the whole reason why I moved
away from home at age fifteen and I wanted to share that part of
my life with all of our loved ones. I found my dress off the rack in
Tel Aviv this past October (during a company tour to Israel) and with it I wore
my Mother's veil!
The location of the reception was also a pretty easy choice for
us, as the Fort Garry Hotel is not only where Ryan works, but where we
first met! We had a buffet style dinner with Salmon, Prime Rib
and Turkey and in lieu of a wedding cake we served gelati!
I would have to say that the highlight of the whole reception were
the speeches!! It's funny because I have been to other weddings and
everyone kind of dreads the boring speeches but when they are written for you,
it's really quite special. My sister Kaylee (who was the Maid of
Honour) did an excellent job of making everyone cry, laugh and reminisce, it
was absolutely perfect!
And as everyone warned me, the day flew by. Before we knew
it, it was all over but I will cherish all the wonderful memories I have
of our wedding day for the rest of my life, along with my new
husband!
