April 10, 2010 | RWB 70th Anniversary Gala

This year’s annual fundraising gala will take place on Saturday April 10th at the Delta Winnipeg. This will be an extraordinary evening of dance and celebration at the RWB commemorates the 70th anniversary with a champagne reception, a fabulous silent auction and spectacular four course meal. Guests will see an exclusive performance specially selected by Artistic Director André Lewis featuring RWB Company dancers and students from the School’s Recreational and Professional Divisions. Retired RWB School Founding Director David Moroni will emcee this unforgettable evening.
 
Single tickets $225 | Corporate table of eight: $1950
A tax receipt will be issued for the charitable portion of the ticket.

Bruce Monk Photo Exhibit

An RWB alumni and current teacher in the RWB School Professional Division, Bruce Monk will display a special anniversary collection of his photographic works at Mayberry Fine Art for a two-week period. Fifty percent of the proceeds from each photograph sold will go towards the David Moroni School Endowment Fund.

In celebration of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet’s 70th anniversary, Winnipeg-based designer Hilary Druxman has created a unique jewelry line inspired by the world renowned ballet company.

Designed and manufactured at Hilary Druxman Inc’s studio in Winnipeg, each piece in the RWB Collection has been hand-crafted by Hilary’s talented team of craftsmen and manufacturers. The new collection will be on sale starting November 27th at the Hilary Druxman store in Winnipeg located at 258 McDermot Avenue and online. Pieces include pins and necklaces in a variety of sizes. Prices for the collection range from $20 to $40.

“The RWB is a world class organization. They attract the best dancers from all over the world. We are privileged to have them in our city and I am inspired by every performance. It was an honour to design a piece for their 70th anniversary”, says Hilary Druxman.

The partnership between the RWB and Hilary Druxman is also a part of Druxman’s philanthropy initiatives. Fifty percent of the proceeds from each item purchased from the RWB anniversary collection will go towards the David Moroni School Endowment Fund which supports the RWB School Professional Division.

Design through the Decades

The RWB will present a rotating window display of costumes in the lobby windows facing Graham Avenue. The costumes span the Company’s history including Dracula, Nutcracker, The Big Top, The Sleeping Beauty and many more.

Ballet in the Park 2010

A Winnipeg summer tradition since the 1970’s Ballet in the Park continuously attracts thousands of Manitobans along with summer tourists. This RWB’s summer tradition, celebrates its 38th year in 2010. Held at the Lyric Theatre in Assiniboine Park, the show features a mixed repertoire of works showcasing dancers from the RWB Company and students from the RWB’s Professional Division.
